You’d have to climb a big Hill to Trump this. Forget the others, this gets my vote.

Nose: Boulevardier cocktail: red vermouth, Campari bitterness and then the whisky kicks in. Not as direct as many Bourbons.
Palate: The palate is back to the form I’d expect for a Bourbon and this one is really good; you can pull out the corn creaminess and then the spices come in. Well tuned.
Finish: There are some herbaceous notes on the finish which add colour to the overall flavour.

Taster
Nose: Quite herbal and chocolaty with plenty of youthful rye. Hints of orange conserve, earthy spice and subtle oak. The corn eventually arrives to add weight.
Palate: Bizarre! Very botanical. In fact it’s like a very lightly oaked gin!
Finish: Intense and mouth-watering with biting, bitter oak and lingering botanicals.
Comment: Not sure what to make of this gin inspired Bourbon.
Score: 7.9
