ABV 43%

A rich, smooth expression of The Macallan. Relatively light in colour. Seems stronger than it really is.

Nose: Fruity, intense. Pear drops, lemon curd. Orangey notes, halfway between flowers and fruit. Quince jam.

Palate: Smooth. Citrus fruits. Orange sherbet, candied orange peel. Nougat. Wood easily dominates.

Finish: Quite dry, but fresh with a delicate mintiness.

Comment: A rich, smooth expression of The Macallan. Relatively light in colour. Seems stronger than it really is.

Taster

Nose: Malt. Vanilla.

Palate: Nice syrupy, malty middle. Creamy. Sweetshop flavours. Sufficiently soothing to calm the palate before the abrupt termination.

Finish: Spicy. Hot. Late smokiness, and astringency.

Comment: With a colour close to that of today's product and a bright clarity, this visually recalled some of the yet-older Macallans that have inspired replica editions.
