There are elements of this which evoke vintage malts of yesteryear, however slightly bitter undertones let down the balance of this whisky.

Taster

Nose: A dusty sherry bodega, cheesecloth, wax, and a hint of damp oak. Like being in the hold of a 19th Century trading ship.

Palate: A robust spirit intertwines with copper, vanilla, candied ginger, and white travel sweets. Some foam banana penny sweets.\n

Finish: Dusty, slightly bitter, and coppery.

Comment: There are elements of this which evoke vintage malts of yesteryear, however slightly bitter undertones let down the balance of this whisky.

Taster

Nose: Earthy and meaty, sweet barbecue smoke, light but luscious honey and hints of green apple, lime and quince. Mature sawdusty oak appears. Beneath lies a touch of sumptuous sherried dried fruit.

Palate: Mature oak shows first but it’s not overwhelming. Sugar sprinkled barley, honey, apricot and lime with a touch of coffee, earth and subtle dried fruit.

Finish: What a finish! Mouthcoating oak and honey with some grippy coffeed tannin and green fruit. Dries a little towards the end but the honey balances and lingers. \n

Comment: Breath-takingly complex!
