ABV 53.7%
A well educated dram, pleasant, balanced. Maybe just lacking the sparkle which would make it gain a better score.

Nose: Intense, fruity, with a luscious cakey fragrance in the back. Greengage flan, shortbread, honey syrup. Oak is well integrated...
Palate: Crisp and firm but releasing a well controlled sweet maltiness. Well balanced, with a tangy feel which dries the flavours. Oak is more perceptible at midpalate.
Finish: Dry with a slight bitterness and a leafy note.
Comment: A well educated dram, pleasant, balanced. Maybe just lacking the sparkle which would make it gain a better score.

Nose: Immediate oak lactone (coconut) over praline and a hint of chocolate. As it opens there's redfruit and madeleine. A little fusty with water, the sweetness of draff and vanilla.
Palate: Hint of orange peel, then chocolate shifting to tinned peach and malt. Good feel. Water brings out the cereal note; wholemeal bread and creamy butter.
Finish: Dustymalt. Fades a little quickly.
Comment: Draff mixed with whipped cream? It's a Glaswegian cranachan.
Score: 7.8
