Nose: Fruity and malty. Lemon syllabub. Fresh leather. Demerara sugar. Apple pie. A touch of tangerine. Breath of grass.
Palate: Crisp, firm. But a sweet luscious start. Quite thick on the tongue. Mouthcoating. Pear poached in a vanilla syrup.
Finish: Long, nutty spicy.
Comment: Alcohol is perfectly tamed. No burn or tang. A cheery dram for a sunny afternoon.

Taster
Nose: Sweet. Reminiscent of throat sweets, then nettle cordial and macaroons before the smoke begins to drift out. Light seashore aromas.
Palate: Burst of phenols to start, then parma violet. Concentrated and lightly perfumed. Hint of lavender. Silky and smooth with excellent length.
Finish: Ever lasting mixing smoke and vanilla.
Comment: A blend of lightly peated older laddie and some new heavily peated Port Charlotte it is typical for Islay, but atypical for Bruichladdich.
Score: 9
