Nose

High rye spiciness: allspice, Chinese five spice powder, intense camphor and bruised red fruits with sweet oak behind. Intense and captivating.

Palate

Peppermint to start with, alongside cherry throat lozenges. There's a genuine head-clearing quality to this. Pleasant dustiness starts mid-way, while behind some big citrus and cooked fruits are massing.

Finish

Spiced apple. Oak.

Great balance. Bold but with finesse. Very Four Roses in fact.
