Nose: Peaty. The full package: creosote, dry smoke, soot, tar,a touch of iodine. And, slowly swirling through the smoke,a summer fruit note.
Palate: Very crisp and fizzy. A sooty/dusty feel on the tongue. Smoke is quite invasive. And the dry texture enhances the alcohol bite.
Finish: Smoother yet dry.
Comment: A rough lad. Hides behind the smoke. The fruit does not come through,and\rthe alcohol is not mastered enough.

Taster
Nose: Big fragrant (dry) smoke, wet oilskins, linseed oil,hot charcoal. Needs water which shows it to be clean and very open with light oiliness, some brine.
Palate: Dry with good extract. Loosens well with a drop of water showing grapefruit, ripe pear,a hint of malt then some yew.
Finish: Big phenols massed here leaving you knee-deep in seaweed.
Comment: Long, stylish and balanced. Highly recommended.
