Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Initially malty, becoming rounded and buttery with water. There's olde English marmalade, delicate woodsmoke wood shavings, log, cigar ash.

Palate: Lightly perfumed and quite sweet. Orange peel, stewed apricot, tinned prune and aromatic smoke. Long and smooth.

Finish: Dry, ash-like.

Comment: A good introductory malt.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Fragrant, oak and malt, very delicate wood smoke.

Palate: Some oiliness, orange juice, again delicate smoke, suggestion of peat.

Finish: Dry, slightly acrid, smoke from cheroots.

Comment: Doesn't leap out of the glass at you, but well balanced and unthreatening.
