Taster

Nose: Lemon and pears poached with turmeric and saffron, heady and exotic. Perfumed flower pollen, frangipane and pineapple with a waxed balsa wood.

Palate: A tingle of mace at the tip of the tongue then a thicker syrup like texture. Lemon cake with sherried sultanas, ginger nut biscuits and spiced carrot cake with buttercream icing. \n

Finish: Big and silky texture with a clean finish.

Comment: Sultry and brooding. Katharine Hepburn in a glass.

Taster

Nose: Initially, a little whiff of sulphur, then talcum powder, chopped nuts, ginger cake and brown sugar. Given time in the glass, the sweeter notes begin to open up.

Palate: Quite dry, with a big hit of vanilla, some dried fruit (dates and raisins), a little nuttiness and a rich caramel.

Finish: A slightly thin note creeps in, but the palate is left with a dry, slightly spicy oak, alongside the dried fruit.

Comment: Well rounded and nicely balanced, despite a slight off note at the beginning.
