Nose: Apricots, baked apples, mellow spice and underlying oak, brioche and gingerbread.
Palate: Elegant though with a certain richness, balancing cooked fruit and apricots with subtle spices, créme brûlée sweetness balanced by oak.
Finish: The same flavours but the volume rises, and lasts.
Comment: An animated and flirtatious nature, with engaging gestures and a lovely smile.
Score: 7.5
Taster
Nose: Crème caramel. Rosewater.
Palate: Am I being suggestible? That famous Campbeltown coconut character seems almost tangible. Dry and straw-like at first, then a surge of grassy sweetness. Dusting of powdered sugar. Garnish candied angelica.
Finish: Cookie-like dryness.
Comment: Seems simple at first, but gradually reveals subtleties. Stylish, teasing.
Score: 8
