Nice, could do with being a touch more mellow to score higher.

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Pineapple which has been griddled and placed on top of a milk rum punch. There is barley water too and hints of toasted coconut and vanilla.

Palate: It takes a while to settle down, and as it does it brings out big copper tones, bloody orange pith, cardamom and fennel. The alcohol gives this some fire, too.\n

Finish: Lingering spice of fennel and clove give this almost a Scandinavian feel.

Comment: Nice, could do with being a touch more mellow to score higher.

Score: 8.3

Taster

Nose: Edgy and slightly industrial with hard barley and hints of wine gums, burnt caramel, honey and coffee.

Palate: Industrial, hard barley with hints of honey and homogenous sweet fruit, although there isn’t enough sweetness to offset the industrial character. Lightly coffeed and oily middle. \n

Finish: Medium length with lingering industrial notes and a touch of spice.\n

Comment: As readers will know, this is not a style of whisky that I warm to.
