Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Mature. Light leather and maltiness. In time, violet then a shift to vanilla, brazil nut, polished oak. Light smoke.

Palate: An oily start, creosote but with a balancing crisp nuttiness. A slow, peaty fog then tobacco and the cinders of a woodland bonfire. Water brings out damp mash, lanolin, heather and a briny note.

Finish: Long, perfumed, salty.

Comment: Has richness and some finesse.

Score: 8

Taster

Nose: A handful of lightly peated barley, tea tree and a musky, perfumed element. Band Aids. A creaminess, like a creamy coffee. Crème de dulce.

Palate: Forest fruits and charcoal, with bonfire smoke.

Finish: A little more smoke fading to burnt sage.

Comment: A good complex mix of floral flavours, fruit and smoke.
