Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Youthful cereal, sweet barley and hints of apricot, white fruit and straw. Crisp with herbal/grassy notes. Fills out, as the toasted toffee oak appears.

Palate: Straightforward, youthful, exuberant and very herbal with granity fresh citrus and displaying an almost antagonistic, grain-like vigour. Definitely palate cleansing!

Finish: A little short and austere thanks to the mineral and citrus overload.

Comment: Straightforward but bracing and charming with plenty of Speyside character.

Score: 8.4

Taster

Nose: Here we get lemon drizzle cake, lavender and lime pickle. It is vibrant and lively in a nice way, think of a good bianco vermouth.

Palate: The cereal notes appear, moving away from the citrus and grape notes of the nose. There are some sour notes, akin to unripe kiwi fruits or gooseberry.

Finish: The sour notes continue into the finish.

Comment: Would make a good whisky sour.
