Tasting Notes

Rob Allanson

Taster

Nose: Espresso grinds, warmed milk, old waxed jackets, balls of merino wool, a\rlittle dunnage warehouse and damp cellars, caraway seeds.

Palate: All that dark, density on the nose has become candyfloss sweetness. A little\rbitter coffee lurks under the milk chocolate.

Finish: Now the spices bite and then dissipate.

Comment: Interesting stuff, plenty to keep you busy with.

Taster

Nose: An impressively sickly butterscotch toffee sundae invites one to dive in for a first taste, those who resist will find sweet milky coffee, very woody peat smoke and dark chocolate shavings.

Palate: Youthful, but equally playful, with sweet peat, sweetened mocha, cherry sherbet and sweetened cream.

Finish: You've guessed it -more sweetness, with the peat lingering on.

Comment: Despite its almost saccharine sweetness, it's hard not to enjoy this as a belting peaty dram. Just remember to brush your teeth after each glass.
