Nose

Aromatic and earthy with dark, toasted wheat flakes, liquorice, nut kernel and bran along with balsamic, sour fruit, treacle and dark wood notes. Astringent but a lovely vitality with late floral violets.

Palate

Herbal with dark wheat, treacle and bracing citrus notes which add freshness. Wood tannins arrive but are promptly succeeded by sweet herbs, sour fruit and a touch of camphor.\n

Finish

Long and moist, the oak vanillins add lightness to the sour fruit. Smoky, treacly finish. \n

Comment

Fantastically complex with the oak playing second fiddle to the spirit character.
