Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: A fresh and gristy nose of lightly herbal, rich, refill sherry, barley, fleshy gala apple and hints of perfumed white flowers. With time the aromas become quite malty with a developing liquorice and treacle note.

Palate: Opens with plenty of mouth-filling creamy toffee moving into moist fruit cake territory. Seriously juicy and raisiny with hints of plum, malt, treacle and liquorice.

Finish: Long with the raisinated fruit lingering, gentle spice and a late cognac-esque dried fruit rancio. Lightly herbal.

Comment: Grouse? Really? I'm impressed!

Taster

Nose: Intense citrus followed by lemon and honey drizzle cake. Baked apples with golden sultanas. With water, lemon posset with a smidgen of star anise.

Palate: The sauce of sticky lemon chicken and star fruit. Water made it more buttery with a pastry case and shortbread sprinkled with sugar.

Finish: Soft and sticky, clean and a short finish.

Comment: Deceptively simple. Very easy drinking whisky
