Knockando is always a well-mannered whisky, although this expression seems a tad tired.

Taster

Nose: Gentle. Peardrops, butterscotch, a hint of lemon.

Palate: Initial apples and sherbet, hard toffee. Some woody notes ultimately predominate.

Finish: Quite short, more toffee, oak.

Comment: Knockando is always a well-mannered whisky, although this expression seems a tad tired.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Malt bin, lime and orange, passion fruit, coffee ice cream becoming hugely, almost alarmingly creamy: fudge, butter.

Palate: Creaminess seems to hide. Direct and nutty with a crisp centre. Pigskin leather. Dry and malty.

Finish: Dusty.

Comment: The first clotted cream finish? Amazing freshness for this age. A great cask – quick use it again!
