An odd Macallan. Light in colour. Quite aggressive, a spicy bite. Where is the elegance and roundness? Macallan on the dark side of the moon!

Palate: Sweet and spicy. Very oaky. Spices burn the tongue even with water added. Fresh ginger root.

Finish: Very warm, a touch of smoke (burnt wood).

Taster

Nose: Fruity. Creamy. Vanilla. Some woody dryness.

Palate: Syrupy. Sweet. Green fruits - or chillies.

Finish: Burning sensation of having bitten into a chilli pepper.

Comment: Interesting in its own right. Hard to envisage as a Macallan, especially with its pale, greeny-gold colour.
