Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Light and clean. Touch of flannel, green peppercorn, pistachio nut (rather than ice cream) and rose. Water brings out grape seed and unripe pineapple.

Palate: Very sweet and hot. Becomes nuttier than the nose suggests with a gentle grip. Needs the water to show the fineness of the spirit.

Finish: A balancing light dustiness.

Comment: Another excellent marker on the upward trajectory of Auchie.

Score: 7.9

Taster

Nose: Sweet and plenty of cream. Initially delicate then it opens out, hints of all spice and ginger. There is citrus as well. Crème brûlée and some fresh barley.

Palate: At first there is the alcohol bite, with a touch of pepper, then it mellows into this soft character with a little lemon and orange.

Finish: Vanilla and a malt edge, quite long.

Comment: Possibly the perfect summer drink and easy to mess around with: long with ice and ginger is fun.
