ABV 48.7%
An oaky character, slightly dour at first but opening on fruit and toffee. Be light when adding water.

Nose: Intense and rich. Damp cider cellar. Oak is prevailing but well combined with fruit. Honeyed apples. That nose reminds me of some calvados. With water, polished oak floor.
Palate: Crisp and dry. With the same oak presence as on the nose but again nicely melting with sweeter notes. Toffee apple, ground ginger spice.
Finish: Dry, oaky, spicy.

Nose: Dark, rich heather honey, hints of blooming gorse bushes. Stewed apples with demerara sugar. The oak is here too with creamy vanillins and grilled pineapple.
Palate: Very fresh and invigorating, dry leaves, an open humidor with dark tobacco leaves, a little cedar. Sweet vanilla pastry, powdered sugar and spices.
Finish: Oak grips drying the mouth then a spiced apple note.
Comment: Very playful whisky that does not need much water. One to savour slowly.
Score: 8.1
