Nose: Tinned peaches and peach skins. A banana split drizzled in toffee sauce, scattered with pecans and served on an oak platter. Wheat fields, wet concrete and fresh nail varnish.
Palate: A big peach bomb. Oak shavings, rice cakes, flapjacks and freshly cooked porridge topped with honey and sliced banana. Freshly baked scones slathered with clotted cream, a bouquet of roses. A woody, dry palate.
Finish: Oats mixed with peach conserve.
Comment: Millions of peaches, peaches for me.

Taster
Nose: Briny, with elements of citrus, but not hugely forthcoming for the ABV. Green apples. A slight soapiness. Grassy.
Palate: Light vanilla, slight traces of peat – ashy, vegetative – with green apples, kiwi fruits and grapefruit acidity. New-make spirit. Water is not kind. Disappointing and lacking complexity.
Finish: Surprisingly short, a slight pepperiness, and the grapefruit lingers.
Comment: I’d blame knackered casks, perhaps, but it doesn’t feel like a lot is happening.
Score: 7
