Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Heady and ample sherry notes. Morello cherry. Loads of vanilla. Old furniture.

Palate: Incredibly sprightly for its age. Speaks out. Trifle, toasted coffee, hint of smoke.

Finish: Very spicy. Cinnamon, ginger, hot paprika.

Comment: Bossily buoyant. Loses in delicacy what it gains in flavour and texture. Miles away from the Lowlands.

Score: 8

Taster

Nose: Big and sweet with oily qualities and soft sherry notes: moist sultana cake, cherry/red berries. Wood-derived aromas.

Palate: Huge and powerful with incense, walnut, chocolate and ripe rich fruity notes. Honeyed warmth.

Finish: Long big and nutty, with spice.

Comment: What a contrast!
