Nose: Gingerbread with vanilla custard, baked apples with raisins, and a hint of spicy honey.
Palate: Velvety with creamy vanilla sweetness, underlying spicy oak dryness, continues with butterscotch, chocolate and cappuccino notes.
Finish: Chocolate, cappuccino with a subtle fruit, oaky garnish.
Comment: A comprehensive digestif, combining the benefits of an afterdinner chocolate, a coffee and a whisky.
Score: 7.8
Taster
Nose: Delicate, lacey. Sweet pastry notes. Shortbread, syllabub. Blancmange, lemon curd. Lemon balm. Tangerine.
Palate: Sensually smooth. Coating, then covering the mouth with spicy flavours. Ginger, star anis.
Finish: Spicy, nutty, gently dry. Touch of liquorice.
Comment: A whispering dram. Nothing wrong with that. You've just got to tune in to its delicacy. The character is full and complex. Dangerously enticing especially with a dash of water.
Score: 8.5
