Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Powerful intense and resinous: treacle, raspberry, coffee. Light smoke giving a burnt note. Gutsy European oak in spades.

Palate: Rich and mouthfilling, reminiscent of Brandy de Jerez: stewed plum, leather, PX, burnt raisins. Dry and densely wooded.

Finish: Fruit cake.

Comment: A fine example of European oak in action.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Smoky. Treacle toffee.

Palate: Chewy. Fruity. Cherries. Chocolatey.

Finish: Bitter chocolate. Concentrated. Intense.

Comment: I would love this whisky if it had a little less wood. I want to love it anyway, but in the end the wood defeats me.
