Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: This one needs water to reveal plotted walnut sideboards in a large Victorian manor house. \n

Palate: Cherry wood fires and raspberry sauce on rich vanilla ice cream. Milk chocolate and Turkish Delight give a sweet tone to a big flavoured whisky. This is a beast that needs water to tame.\n

Finish: Sweet, with red flowers, more Turkish Delight and marshmallow.\n

Comment: Really promising stuff.

Taster

Nose: Quite winey with toasted treacle and an almost PX-like grapiness. Intense and very herbal with malt biscuits, caramel, sour cheese, leather and stewed fruit.

Palate: Intense, alcoholic and coffeed with plenty of drying wood notes, herbs and hints of malt biscuits and treacle. \n

Finish: Masked, mouth-watering, herbal and malty. Water softens and emphasises the malt and herbal notes.\n

Comment: Clearly well made whisky, with a very dominant cask.
