Belt and braces style of whisky, robust!

Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Raisins, then more meaty with bresaola, biltong, tomato leaf and paprika. Red Thai curry and lemongrass.
Palate: Burning cinnamon stick and espresso with dissolved muscovado sugar and dark cherry chocolate. Quite drawing at the back of the palate. \n
Finish: Hot, grippy and short.
Comment: Belt and braces style of whisky, robust!
Nose: Doesn't nose like something at this ABV, this has a multitude of aromas and evokes a hot toddy or rum punch on the nose...dark muscovado sugar and toffee apple. Like nosing a cask directly.
Palate: Lots of active wood here and very good quality sherry oak. Black Forest gâteau and dark cherry mix with new leather, cracked black pepper and old books.
Finish: Long, sweet and delicious. Works well with a drop of water, but also neat which is astonishing at this ABV.
Comment: Like a beautiful and entertaining tapestry. A work of art.
