Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Gold. Dry spices, garam masala/coriander powder. Reminds me of an old trunk in the loft. There's some chocolate/biscuity notes, burnt orange and spent matches. Undemanding stuff.

Palate: Clean and lightly malty. Slightly dry with a little bitterness on the side of the mouth.

Finish: Nuts.

Comment: Easy-going, but nothing to get too excited about.

Score: 6.5

Taster

Nose: Sherry. Rubbery. Lilac.

Palate: Sherry prevails. Burnt oak. Slightly sulphurous. Touch of chestnut.

Finish: Surprisingly discreet for what could be expected from a sherried malt.

Comment: Sherry influence calls the tune. Water calms the flavours down.
