Beyond the stark, disappointing nose, this is a genuinely fine dram. The star turn is the balance.

Tasting Notes

Jim Murray

Taster

Nose: Spirity and ethereally light. More malty and sweet when reduced.

Palate: A hot dram at first, but offers immediately a faultlessly clean maltiness.

Finish: More of the same. The final notes show a lush richness usually associated with small stills and lots of copper.

Comment: Beyond the stark, disappointing nose, this is a genuinely fine dram. The star turn is the balance.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Freshly cut ripe, sweet, pears. Scented.

Palate: Tastes of cream, nectarines, melons and pears. Soft, stalky and woody.

Finish: Refreshing.

Comment: Not much complexity, but an unusually summery whisky.
