This is better than other Brora's I have tried. Balanced and poised.
30 Years Old
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Initially sweet then this lovely smokiness develops. There is a hot dry quality too, like warm sand or ground\rblack pepper.
Palate: Barley sugar sweets and soft fruits and apple skins. That smoke is more bonfire now with a peat edge.
Finish: Long with the smoke still going.
Comment: This is better than other Brora's I have tried. Balanced and poised.
Nose: Malty and grassy. Ripe straw. Orange blossom honey. Cider apple and dried pear.
Palate: Sweet and smooth at start. But soon drying on teasing spices. Quite hot.
Finish: Dry, soothing on creamy custard with a nutty touch.
Comment: A warm character if not hot. It needs a dash of water to find its balance and round up. Certainly a winter warmer.
