Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Cane sugar, leather gloves, pencil boxes, brown sugar on porridge, roasted cob nuts. A forest floor note.

Palate: Sweet, barley sugar, golden syrup and crème caramel but then the spices\rbuild. There is a nice oak grip to this too.

Finish: Spicy, warming and then a gentle fade.

Comment: Very pleasant and moreish. The alcohol is well mastered.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Malty. Oatcakes. Müesli. Fern, wet leaves. An earthy touch. Cooked apples. Then citrus fruit. Candied orange. A sherry influence but not overwhelming. A floral hint of lilac.

Palate: Smooth, velvety. Incredibly sweet given the alcohol strength. That sweet toffee and treacle gives way to a dry spicy explosion. Oak frames the spices.

Finish: Dry, very spicy, with a slight astringency. Dark orange chocolate.

Comment: Perfect for a dreich November day.
