The BenRiach

17 Years Old 1993 Burgundy Wood

ABV 46%

This is like batting against a team with four fast bowlers. It's relentless. A tangy taste sensation, sure, but the jury's out as to whether the malt's been\renhanced by the finish.

Nose: Floral bath foam. Green vegetables. Sweet chestnut.

Palate: Savoury and sappy, and with an interesting balance between berry\rfruits and ginger barley.

Finish: Medium, earthy and fruity.

Comment: This is like batting against a team with four fast bowlers. It's relentless. A tangy taste sensation, sure, but the jury's out as to whether the malt's been\renhanced by the finish.

Taster

Nose: Shoe polish (suede cleaner), dark chocolate, tinned black cherry pie\rfilling, floor polish. More complex with water becoming orange accented.

Palate: Soft, with red fruits. Tart and acidic moving into kumquat before a\rbarrage of red and black fruits.

Finish: Light red cherry notes.

Comment: Just a little lacking in full integration. You can sense the whisky sitting\runderneath the finish.
