Taster

Nose: Another sherried character which noses old. Earthy. Bracken, humus with a fungal touch. More dried fruit than the previous ones.

Palate: Sweet and sour and also bitter. The alcohol bites. Warm and spicy. With a\rfizzy feel. Burnt caramel.

Finish: Slightly numbing. Burnt toffee. Demerara sugar caramel.

Comment: Old but not very lively. The nose is complex and fragrant.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Big and concentrated with masses of rose hip syrup cut with fresh varnish. There's hints of camphor and incense along with plenty of dried fruits/Xmas pudding and prune.

Palate: Yes, there are big tannins on show but there's a balancing rich soft sweetness. Masses of liquorice and plenty of bruised black fruits.

Finish: Long, slightly bitter and powerful.

Comment: For sherry fiends certainly but it's certainly got balance.
