Rosebank Distillery (Closed 1993)
ABV: 43%
Age: 9 Years Old
Style: Single Malt
Country: Scotland
Region: Lowland
Overall
Score
8.8
Nose
Young and still immature with fresh cut grass and the faintest waxy honey giving a lift above the alcohol.
Palate
The tell-tale signs of youth: citrus zest and barley concentrate. Yet the middle is magnificent with acacia honey and oak and some salty, tangy slightly peaty notes.
Finish
Long, chocolatey, a hint of oranges and warm spices. The balance is pretty nearly perfect.
Comment
Despite the worrying nose, to taste this has a bit of everything, in just the right amounts. A real collector's item. And don't add water.
