Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Mature. Jammy, stewed fruit but slightly flat. Some currant and shoe polish. In time a mash tun note.

Palate: Sweet and honeyed with good depth. Tongue-coating. Oak showing. Hates water.

Finish: Short.

Comment: The wood has taken charge. Doesn't appear to have the character to carry extended aging.

Score: 7

Taster

Nose: Red apples and dried fruits (apple, coconut and papaya). With water a mustiness comes out, although with a fine oatiness like muesli-dust. Floral too.

Palate: A complex mix of fruit, chocolate and lots of wood.

Finish: Drying tannins grip to the tongue.

Comment: Tannic but pleasant enough old malt.
