An almost immaculate portrayal of an old-fashioned, high quality malt. Quite outstanding for its age.

Taster

Nose: Beautifully defined oak; almost chestnut sweet with clean sherry, softly peated and bourbony.

Palate: Oak again, teasingly spicy with sweetness and intense malt. Hint of liquorice .

Finish: Long, chewy, smoky and initially sweet with the liquorice continuing, dries slowly to an oaky encore.

Comment: An almost immaculate portrayal of an old-fashioned, high quality malt. Quite outstanding for its age.

Taster

Nose: Oaky.

Palate: Medium to full. Very firm. Oaky start, with nutty maltiness and raisiny sweetness fighting through. Tightly locked flavours open with a dash of water.

Finish: Peat. Log fires. Oak.

Comment: Some of the voluptuousness has sagged with age.
