Nose: Sensuous, softly spiced and boasting a subtle, maple sweetness. Lovely fruity notes. Brilliantly delicate.

Palate: Early oak and then a surge of sweet, deliciously textured malt. Soft peppers and a balancing fudge.

Finish: Dry and oaky but with barley-sweetness. Late chocolate and ageing liquorice.

Comment: Delicious but rare. Every bottle has already been sold.

Taster

Nose: Pears, grass, heather.

Palate: Soft, delicate, sweetish. The characteristic white-chocolate note of the older Glenfiddichs.

Finish: Light, fresh. Orange-honey. Light spicy dryness.

Comment: On the light side among older Glenfiddichs, but delicate and appetising.
