Berrys' Own Selection

Islay Reserve Blended Malt

ABV 46%

A young Ileach, close to the new make. The cask has not imparted much. But a clean dram. Refreshing and tonic.

Taster

Nose: Grassy. Drying hay with a musty hint. Running honey. Distant smoke. In\rtime, creosote aromas fill the glass. The kiln the day after.

Palate: Sweet and silky. A caressing feel. The same grassy profile. Cereal, vanilla and can be a bit fizzy.

Finish: Grassy with a smoky aftertaste.

Comment: A young Ileach, close to the new make. The cask has not imparted much. But a clean dram. Refreshing and tonic.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Like standing at the harbour's edge. Has a smoky and medicinal quality but\rsome soft fruit is here.

Palate: That coal tar soap edge cuts through the spices. Malty notes pervade and\rthat sweet fruit note comes through.

Finish: Smoked and short.

Comment: Should please the Islay fans, has all the right pieces in the right place.
