Jim Murray

Taster

Nose: Peat-free (contrary to label) and clean - even cleaner than 10 Years Old. The malt is sweeter, too, with more vanilla, and a hint of butterscotch.

Palate: More discreet malt this time, with a pleasing built up of spices and oak.

Finish: Dry and extremely malty. The oak adds a bitter chocolate finale.

Comment: Wondrously peat-free for an Islay but lacking in depth. Even so, this is rather lovely stuff.
