Nose: A delicate hit of smoke, sort of distant bonfires. Eucalyptus honey. Fir trees and forest floors. Oak slowly comes through with vanilla.
Palate: Big spicy mouthfeel, makes your mouth water. Swwetness at the core and the smoke has vanished.
Finish: Big oak sweetness.
Comment: A warming dram. Well balanced and harmonious.
Score: 8.6
Taster
Nose: Elegant mature nose which mixes nougat, peppermint, green/stewed apple then a perfumed lemon-grass quality. Fragrant and highly concentrated citrus, light smoke.
Palate: Complex and layered Cool and clean with dribbly fruit syrups and light grip. Very light smoke on an extended and evolved palate.
Finish: Orange bitters and embers, passion fruit and light liquorice.
Comment: Sheer classiness and head and shoulders above the rest for me.
Score: 9.2
