Taster

Nose: Gentle soft vanilla pods, griddled pineapple, candle wax, malt loaf, leather gloves and damp tweed.

Palate: Tropical fruit juice, strawberry and raspberry compote, white chocolate and cinnamon powder.

Finish: Short, fizzy and sparkling.

Comment: Big and interesting, but seems to be all on the nose.

Score: 7.3

Taster

Nose: Acetone, fresh pine resin, redcurrants and slightly fermenting strawberries,\rcoupled with some mineral notes and hot slate.

Palate: Burnt chocolate, orange zest, some woody spice and a slight creaminess\ron the back palate.

Finish: The zest sticks to the palate and steadfastly refuses to let go.

Comment: This has some characterful notes, but not enough to raise it into the echelons of other whiskies of comparable age.
