Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Crisp, malty and nutty with a light earthy note.

Palate: Sweet to start, but the wood stands slightly apart from the spirit. Young but has a delicate charm.

Finish: Lemon, then butter.

Comment: Young but attractive. A distillery to watch.

Taster

Nose: Some peat. Grassy.

Palate: Sweet and slightly rooty. Candied angelica. Starts smooth and sweet, then develops a curiously fibrous dryness.

Finish: Liquorice. Pepper.

Comment: Slightly gin-like. I have preferred bottlings that had more contribution from the wood. A touch of vanilla would round out the flavours.
