Taster

Nose: Earthy peat notes, hint of medicinal bandages, a distinctly floral/heather note, Parma Violets, hazelnuts and cocoa powder.

Palate: Charred pork chops, more of the Parma Violet and medicinal throat lozenges. With water, some tannic orange pekoe tea notes emerge.

Finish: A return of the medicinals, some tablet and lingering floral peat notes.

Comment: Distinct, robust and delightfully elegant in the same glass. A classy offering indeed.

Taster

Nose: Gentle burning bracken notes and deep earthy tones. Distant peat fires, but also a juicy fruit edge, mango and passionfruit. Lemon zest. Coal tar soap and horse tack.

Palate: Sweet and honeyed, fresh fruit sorbet then the peat hits with coal tar soap and a meaty edge.

Finish: Sweet peat, demerara sugar and hospital wards.

Comment: This is not to be missed, a gorgeous dram.
