Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Freshly-turned earth, apple blossom, a little smoke. Fragrant, medium-bodied. Water brings out apple wood, cream and a citric lift. Smoke remains.

Palate: Light start, good mid-palate weight but not very broad or overly complex. Smoke and soft attractive fruits.

Finish: Short.

Comment: All the qualities of this distillery: fragrance, good feel, little smoke but not one of the best.

Score: 7.3

Taster

Nose: Soft, sweet and tender. Lots of fruit (orange, grapefruit, almond). Hint of hawthorn blossom.

Palate: Smart combination of fruit and oak, uncovering peat on the move. Mouthfilling and appetite-arousing.

Finish: Clean, dry, crisp and gently smoky.

Comment: Very elegant and fragrant. As an apéritif with melon, basil and Parma ham.
