Taster
Nose: Light, floral and fruity. A hint of mint toffee. Mandarin freshness. A butyric touch with water.
Palate: Smooth and fresh. Good balance. A certain delicacy in the way flavours mingle.
Finish: Dry and spicy. What it gains in intensity it loses in elegance.
Comment: A refined and pleasant dram, perfect for a summer tea-time. Less attractive and aromatic when diluted.
Score: 7
Taster
Nose: Very light saltiness. A hint of pastry-like maltiness.
Palate: Creamy, oily and oaty. Then pollen-like.
Finish: Dry. A hint of citrus. Not very long.
Comment: Never a classic, but the closure of a distillery is a loss. Lochside was a pleasant whisky, and now it is a collector's item.
Score: 7
