ABV 43%
I fell in love with the nose, but the palate lacks a little of the complexity I was expecting.

Nose: Heathery notes, with cream, almost verging on cottage cheese. Oat cakes, blueberry compote, orange fruit jellies, glacé cherries and raisin.
Palate: Meaty at first, like pork chops on a barbeque - salty. Slightly waxy, rubber stoppers, damp leaves on the ground, corn oil, pencil sharpenings and sage.
Finish: Chilli heat and rubbery green notes wrap up a medium finish. There’s a little menthol at the end, too.
Comment: I fell in love with the nose, but the palate lacks a little of the complexity I was expecting.
Score: 7.5
Taster
Nose: Dried red apple, freeze-dried strawberries, furniture polish, blueberry and honey-glazed granola.
Palate: Medium bodied. Orchard fruits, predominantly red apple, are joined by bramble crumble and then cashew nut, evolving into savoury oyster mushroom.
Finish: Long. Nutty and somewhat savoury. In time, this fades and red apple remains. Slightly drying as tannins make an appearance.
Comment: A pleasant dram that improves with time in the glass.
Score: 7.8
