Nose: Quick maltiness, then extraordinarily powerful berry-fruit: blackberries?

Palate: Dry toffee, cream, fruit, nutmeg. Oaky sappiness.

Finish: Dry sherry.

Comment: A little more roundness would have been appreciated.

Taster

Nose: Lovely bourbon notes make their mark as the soft oaky character charms the daylights out of you. Some minty, nutty notes add a secondary layer of interest.

Palate: Deep-textured and estery with excellent spices.

Finish: Long and mouthwatering to a fault, with rich barley.

Comment: The texture and estery nature is a shock: all rather un-Aberlour-ish. Not as spicy as the usual aged malt from this distillery, but a gem nonetheless.
