Aberlour

Aged 15 Years, Double Cask

ABV 40%

Easily drowned with water. The standard 15 Years Old is stunning, but this just seems gawky and awkward. There are so many Aberlour variants on the market - I'm getting mightily confused.

Taster

Nose: Initially quite crisp with a fairly hot nose burn and citric. Seems strangely immature with very faint sherried notes.

Palate: A creamy centre, but everything is muted.

Finish: A little short with minty tones.

Comment: Easily drowned with water. The standard 15 Years Old is stunning, but this just seems gawky and awkward. There are so many Aberlour variants on the market - I'm getting mightily confused.

Nose: Drily flowery-herbal aromas. Roses. Vanilla. Moving to a suggestion of tobacco.

Palate: Smooth, with tightly-combined flavours. Some buttery maltiness. Candied lemon peel. Cinnamon. Garden mint.
