Tasting Notes

Nose

Opens with soft, buttery oak, corn and chunks of sweet, violet rye. Lightly earthy with a touch of pruney dried fruit and light herbal rye. In time dark chocolate, liquorice and bbq smoke. \n

Palate

On the shy side and not as complex as the nose would suggest, but a lovely suppleness. Opens with liquorice tainted oak then edgy, dark rye spices. Tannins and alcohol are drying.

Finish

Long and dry. Oily corn coming through with a touch of spice. Still pretty oaky and boy those tannins grip!

Comment

So the palate doesn’t quite have the complexity of the nose. But it’s a minor quibble!
