Bladnoch Distillery

22 Years Old, Single cask

ABV 46%

Struggles to find a rhythm. Lowlanders weren't built to last to this age. Nevertheless, it has its delightful moments. Best at full strength and at about 46%.

Tasting Notes

Jim Murray

Taster

Nose: Over-aged, sappy and astringent oak redeemed by bourbony sweetness and by an undertone of amazingly fresh barley.

Palate: Excellent, oily maltiness at first. The middle is an oaky mess.

Finish: Dries too harshly. Long, tapering finish saved by late and enjoyable complexity.

Comment: Struggles to find a rhythm. Lowlanders weren't built to last to this age. Nevertheless, it has its delightful moments. Best at full strength and at about 46%.
