Taster

Nose: Sweet peat smoke, Bakewell tart and some green apple. There is almond, chamois leather and citricidal. The smoke is sweet, not medicinal and shrouds the nose in a very inviting way.\n

Palate: The base of smoke gives way to peach melba drizzled with honey, elements \nof granola, and more of the chamois leather from the nose. Dusty, dry and very drinkable. \n

Finish: Toasted hot cross buns and cinnamon give a dry, smoky end.\n

Comment: A quality spirit balancing smoke, citrus, sweetness. Serve in a hip-flask or a highball

Taster

Nose: Now this feels like it has some miles on the clock! A beautiful melange of barley husk, soft apricot, white fruit, honey and oak. Water makes it quite aromatic and herbal.

Palate: A little dry and straw-like to begin with; barley husks, white fruit and rather intrusive alcohol. Some sweeter barley notes come through on the middle with a touch of honey \nand earth. Diluted, it’s a little watery. \n

Finish: Short, hot and a little honeyed. Water brings out some smokiness.

Comment: Although pleasant, I think it has been bottled just in time.
